2025 Firefish Swim Team Registration Now Open - Sign Up for a Competitive & Fun Swim Season
The Firethorne Firefish Swim Team has officially opened registration for the 2025 season, inviting new and returning families to be part of an exciting summer swim program. The Firefish Swim Team, founded in 2011, provides young swimmers with an opportunity to participate in a competitive yet fun swimming environment, fostering personal growth, teamwork, and athletic development.

Returning families were eligible to register starting Monday, March 3, 2025

New family registration opened on March 18, 2025.

Registration takes place online, with spots filling on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration Fees

$180 – First swimmer per family

$165 – Second swimmer per family

$150 – Each additional swimmer per family

Swimmers aged 15-18 only pay a $40 registration fee, covering insurance and equipment, and are encouraged to invite non-resident friends to join the team.
The registration fee includes: coaching salaries, certifications, training, a team t-shirt (sponsored by Matt Freeman), a swim cap, WHALE insurance fees, and end-of-year trophies and awards.

Who Can Join?
The Firethorne Firefish Swim Team is open to swimmers ages 4-18 who meet eligibility requirements. The team competes in the West Houston Aquatic League (WHALe) and prioritizes registration for returning swimmers. All swimmers must be able to swim at least one length of the pool independently and will be evaluated during the first two days of practice.
Practice & Volunteer Commitment
The Firefish Swim Team is a community-driven program that relies on family involvement. A $250 credit card authorization is required at registration to ensure volunteer commitments are met, but this is not a buyout option—families are expected to contribute their time to the team’s success.
Official Firefish Team Swimsuits
The 2025 Firefish team suit design remains the same as last year, offering two style options for girls (Freeback and ThinStraps) and jammers for boys. Swimmers can be fitted at D&J Sports, located at 617 South Mason Road, Katy, TX 77450, on March 21 and 22, 2025.
