Anniston Neighborhood Yard Sale Set for November 8: Community-Wide Event Offers Treasure Hunting and Selling Opportunities for Residents

August 27 2025

The Anniston community is gearing up for one of its favorite fall traditions—the Anniston Neighborhood Yard Sale, set for Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This all-day event invites residents to turn their driveways into pop-up shops and offer a wide variety of items, from home goods and clothing to toys, books, tools, and furniture.

It’s a perfect chance for buyers and browsers from across Katy and Fulshear to explore hidden treasures and for sellers to do some decluttering ahead of the holidays. The event has been added to the Katy/Fulshear community events calendar on My Neighborhood News, helping to attract more shoppers from the surrounding area. Whether you’re planning to sell or just love a good deal, here are a few tips to make the most of the day.

For Sellers: How to Make Your Yard Sale Stand Out

  • Start Prepping Early: Begin sorting and pricing your items at least a week in advance. Group similar items together and make sure everything is clean and in good condition.

  • Price to Sell: Yard sales are all about the bargain. Use painter’s tape or stickers to clearly mark prices and be ready to negotiate—many shoppers expect a little wiggle room.

  • Signage Matters: Use large, legible signs on the corners of your street the morning of the sale. Balloons, arrows, and simple messages like “Multi-Family Yard Sale →” can help draw traffic.

  • Offer Small Bills and Bags: Have plenty of change available—especially ones and fives—and consider having some grocery bags on hand to make shopping easier for buyers. And remember never to leave your cash unattended—consider using a fanny pack to have all bills and coins conveniently available throughout your sale.

  • Team Up with Neighbors: More homes participating means more foot traffic. Reach out to neighbors and coordinate your setups to create a block-party atmosphere.

  • Plan Ahead for Donations: After the sale, consider donating any unsold items to local Katy-area charities that support community initiatives through their resale shops—proceeds help fund vital programs and services. For Buyers: How to Score Great Finds

  • Come Early for the Best Selection: The early birds often get the best deals on furniture, electronics, and popular kids' items.

  • Bring Cash: Most yard sales are cash-only, so come prepared with small bills.

  • Be Respectful: Avoid early arrivals before the posted time, and always ask before entering someone’s driveway or handling items.

  • Dress Comfortably: November in Katy can be sunny or breezy, so check the forecast and bring sunscreen or a light jacket.
