Description

A fertile, well-drained soil is a basic element to a successful garden. Learn more about "Creating Healthy Garden Soil" in a free class on Saturday, Feb. 17, offered by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Fort Bend County with Fort Bend County Master Gardeners. The Grow Your Own class will be taught by Master Gardeners Don Parkhouse and Ken Inkrott starting at 9 a.m. at 1330 Band Road in Rosenberg.

The class will teach the basics on how to "supercharge" your soil and help home gardeners minimize environmental, pest and disease problems. Topics will include soil structure, testing and analysis and how to enrich your garden soil. This is one of six classes in the Grow Your Own series. Upcoming classes include "Warm Season Vegetables & Herbs" on March 13, "Vegetable Pest and Disease Management" on April 20, "Growing Plants from Seeds/Cuttings" on May 4 and "Cool Season Vegetables & Herbs" on Aug. 3.

Visit https://fortbend.agrilife.org/grow-your-own/ to register. Registration is required. For more information, contact Brandy Rader at 281-342-3034 or brandy.rader@ag.tamu.edu
