Katy Freedom Celebration at Typhoon Texas

The City of Katy will light up the night sky with a spectacular Freedom Celebration fireworks show on Thursday, July 4, as part of its annual Independence Day tradition. The fireworks finale, scheduled for 9 p.m., will be visible across much of the area, with some of the best viewing inside Typhoon Texas, where patriotic festivities begin earlier in the day.

In honor of its tenth summer season, Typhoon Texas is hosting its Red, White & Boom celebration—an all-day Fourth of July event filled with family-friendly fun. Guests can enjoy live performances, themed games, costumed stilt walkers, and a hands-on craft station for kids. The afternoon will also feature a daring skydiving performance by the Typhoon Texas Skydivers, weather permitting.

Alongside these special activities, parkgoers can cool off with Typhoon Texas’s signature water attractions, including a Texas-sized wave pool, lazy river, high-speed slides, and Typhoon Jr. for younger kids. Gates open at 11 a.m., and the park remains open until 10 p.m., offering families a full day of red, white, and blue excitement.

This star-spangled celebration combines the thrill of the waterpark with the patriotic spirit of the City of Katy’s Freedom Celebration, making it one of the top ways to celebrate the Fourth of July in the Greater Houston area.
