Cy-Fair Women's Club Spreads Love to Local Seniors for Valentine's Day

February 14 2023

Throughout the year, members of the Cy-Fair Women's Club (CWC) come together to complete a service project for the community. In addition to larger projects that have a far-reaching impact, the CWC also completes mini service projects that benefit select groups or organizations in the Cy-Fair region.

This year's first mini service project was right on time: making Valentine cards for nursing home residents. Earlier this month, members and guests came together for CWC's February meeting and assembled the cards, which featured handwritten messages, cheerful graphics and fun stickers.

On February 9, the cards made at the February meeting were delivered to Cypress Pointe Health & Wellness. Janet, the activity director for the center, was delighted to receive them and thrilled by CWC's thoughtfulness for their seniors and patients in observance of Valentines Day.

About Cy-Fair Women's Club

Cy-Fair Women’s Club (CWC) is a 501(c)3 organization serving the greater Cy-Fair community in northwest Harris County in Houston, Texas. Begun in 1982 as the Copperfield Women’s Club, our mission to serve the needs of our community remain as strong as the day we first came together. Our hard-working, determined members are dedicated to fundraising and community volunteering. The popular market event Shop ‘til You Drop (STYD) is our primary fundraiser held annually on the second Saturday in September. The funds we have raised through the shopping event, concession stand volunteering, sponsorship, membership dues and donations have allowed us to annually provide over $22,000 in high school scholarships and over $40,000 to local charities. “Bringing women together to better our community!” is why we exist and how we continue to grow.
