Hearthstone Garden Club Invites All to August Social and Plant Swap

July 30 2025

The Hearthstone Garden Club is opening its doors to the community with an invitation that blends friendship, horticulture, and neighborhood pride. Hearthstone residents and non-residents alike are welcome to attend the Hearthstone Garden Club August Social on Tuesday, August 19, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Hearthstone Country Club, located at 7615 Ameswood Rd, Houston, TX 77095.

Appetizers will be served, and attendees are encouraged to bring a plant to swap—an opportunity to share greenery, stories, and gardening tips with others who appreciate the joys of cultivating beautiful spaces. Membership in the club or residence in the Hearthstone neighborhood is not required, making this event a friendly way to connect with gardening enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

A Legacy of Beautification and Community

The Hearthstone Garden Club has been a fixture of the neighborhood since its founding in 1978 by forty-one women dedicated to enhancing their community’s natural beauty. Over the years, their efforts have left a lasting mark, including planting the oak trees along Huffmeister Road, developing the beloved Friendship Garden, adding Chinese Fringe trees for seasonal spring blooms, and funding the community announcement sign through their popular Holiday Auction and Fall Plant Sale.

Their reach extends beyond local landscaping. The club funds horticultural scholarships, supports charitable organizations like Cy-Fair Helping Hands, and contributes to garden therapy programs at the Brookwood Community. Members also engage in a variety of activities, from field trips and volunteer projects to fundraising events and fellowship gatherings.

Affiliated with the Houston Federation of Garden Clubs, District IV, Texas Garden Clubs, the South Central Region, and the National Garden Clubs, the Hearthstone Garden Club aligns itself with a broader mission of encouraging gardening, floral design, and environmental responsibility.

Why Attend?

The August Social provides a welcoming environment for anyone curious about joining or simply wanting to meet new people. Whether you are an experienced gardener, a casual plant lover, or someone looking for ways to get involved in the community, the event promises an evening of warm conversation and inspiration.
