New Tractor Supply Store Planned for Kuykendahl Road in Spring

August 29 2025

A new Tractor Supply Company store is officially on its way to northern Harris County. Construction is set to begin in early October 2025, on a 23,729-square-foot retail building at 22425 Kuykendahl Road in Spring, with projected completion around mid-April 2026, according to an official permit filing. The project carries an estimated cost of $2.2 million and marks another milestone in the area’s steady commercial growth along the Kuykendahl corridor.

Known for catering to America’s farmers, ranchers, pet lovers, and rural communities, Tractor Supply has built a loyal following by offering a unique blend of home improvement supplies, outdoor gear, livestock feed, animal care products, workwear, tools, and seasonal décor. With over 2,200 stores across 49 states, the company has earned a reputation as the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the United States.

Locally, Greater Houston already hosts dozens of Tractor Supply locations, including stores in Tomball, Cypress, Katy, and Conroe. The new Spring store will bring added convenience to residents in North Houston, The Woodlands, and surrounding unincorporated areas of Harris County—especially for those with acreage, animals, or a DIY approach to outdoor living.

A Retailer Rooted in Rural Tradition

Founded in 1938 in Minot, North Dakota, Tractor Supply originally began as a mail-order business for tractor parts. Since then, the company has grown into a multibillion-dollar retailer with a distinctly community-focused mission: to support the rural lifestyle and the people who live it. Whether someone needs chicken feed, chain saw oil, muck boots, or a safe for storing tools, Tractor Supply often fills a gap that big box home improvement stores do not.

Unlike other retailers in its category, Tractor Supply blends retail with rural utility. It’s not just about product selection—it’s about serving a way of life. Many of its stores also host community events like pet adoption days, gardening workshops, and FFA fundraisers. The brand’s motto, “For Life Out Here,” reflects its deep roots in agriculture, self-sufficiency, and hands-on living.

Construction updates and hiring announcements for the new Spring location are expected to follow in early 2026. When open, the store will likely create jobs and offer both full-time and part-time positions ranging from retail associates to department leads.

As more families in the Spring area embrace small-scale farming, backyard chickens, home gardening, and outdoor home improvement, the arrival of Tractor Supply is expected to be a welcomed addition—bringing both resources and rural charm to the community.
