Registration for Katy ISD Summer Music Camps Now Open
This summer, Katy ISD will host five summer music camps for students currently enrolled in the district from elementary through junior high school. Registration is now open and closes on April 17 so register your student today!
Elementary Choir Camp
May 30 - June 2, 2023 at Woodcreek Junior High
The Katy ISD Elementary Choir Camp is a four-day summer program incorporating singing, Orff instrumentation, & musical movement. The camp is open to all rising 4th and 5th grade students in Katy ISD. Students will gain experience in 2 part choral singing, musical movement, will receive instruction in breathing exercises, vocal technique, Orff accompaniment, and working together as an ensemble to make beautiful music.

Daily Schedule: Tuesday - Friday from 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM

Participants may bring a snack/water bottle each day. Chick-fil-A lunch will be provided on June 2nd before the performance.
- Cost is $100 per student. Price includes camp Instruction, a camp t-shirt, and celebration lunch on last day of camp.

Jazz Workshop
June 5-8, 2023 at Katy High School
The Katy ISD Jazz Workshop is a four-day summer program incorporating all aspects of jazz. The camp is open to all middle school and high school students who have completed at least one year of instruction in music. Students will gain experience in big band and combo performance and will receive instruction in jazz theory, history, and improvisation. Audition information will be posted here on May 1, so check back on that date for details.

Junior High Choir Camp
June 12-15, 2023 at Jordan High School
The Katy ISD JH Choir Camp is a four day camp for students entering 6th, 7th, & 8th grade in the 2023 - 2024 school year.
Students will learn songs, play games, and make friends! Camp is staffed by Katy ISD Choir Directors, High School Choir Students, and Guest Choir Clinicians from the Houston area.
On Thursday, parents are welcome to attend our concert at 1:00 PM.

Junior High Orchestra Camp
June 12-15, 2023 at Paetow HS or June 19-23, 2023 at Jordan HS
We are offering two separate weeks of orchestra camp this year for students entering grades 7-9 for 2023-2024. Students can choose to sign up for June 12 through June 15 at Paetow High School OR June 19 through June 23 at Jordan High School. It is. not recommended to enroll a student in both sessions, as the material will be the same.

Junior High Band Camp
June 19-23, 2023 or June 26-30, 2023 at Tompkins HS
Thank you for your interest in the Katy ISD JH Band Camp! We are very excited about your participation in our camp, and we know that it will benefit you musically, educationally, and socially. We are offering this camp to provide an economical and convenient alternative to those who may not have an opportunity to attend another summer band camp due to scheduling or costs.
As a participant in this camp, you will learn from some of the best teachers in Katy and the greater Houston area. Our camp will provide an opportunity for students to refine their instrumental and ensemble skills, while staying close to home. Students throughout the district will blend together to make music and friendships!
We are excited to announce that there will be 2 sessions of the JH band camp this year due to popularity. Each session will be identical in structure and location, but there maybe be a few staffing changes. It is not recommended that students attend both sessions, as the experience will be similar.

Auditions
Each camper is asked to submit a video audition to determine placement into the correct ensemble. There is a place for every student regardless of ability level. The audition is not meant to cause stress or anxiety. It is only a guide for our staff to provide the best experience for our campers.
9th graders will need to audition for part assignments only. All 9th graders will be placed into our 9th grade ensemble.

Grand Finale Concert
At the end of the week, we will have a Grand Finale Concert to showcase the bands and the hard work from the week. Families are encouraged to attend! The concert will begin at 9am on Friday in the Performing Arts Center of Tompkins HS.
Camp Celebration
For an additional cost, you can attend the camp celebration following the concert on Friday morning. More details will come regarding this additional activity.
