The Milkshake Factory is Coming to Cypress with Sweet Nostalgia and a Gourmet Touch
The MilkShake Factory®, a heritage-rich dessert chain rooted in chocolate-making traditions dating back to 1914, is set to open a new location in Cypress, Texas. Scheduled to begin interior renovations in the beginning of July 2025, the new shop is expected to welcome sweet-toothed customers towards the end of September 2025, at Elyson Town Center, located at 7040 Elyson Exchange Way Suite E-100.
The project will renovate a 1,603-square-foot space into a warm, inviting dessert destination that pays tribute to its roots as a soda fountain and chocolate shop. The construction includes demolition of existing interiors, with no exterior work planned, according to an official permit filing.
Indulgent Menu, Family Tradition
The MilkShake Factory’s arrival is a flavorful addition to Cypress’s growing dessert scene. Known for its extravagant milkshakes, handcrafted sundaes, and premium chocolates, the menu offers both nostalgia and innovation. Highlights include signature creations like the Campfire S’mores Shake and Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Shake, while limited-time options such as the Chocolate Cake Shake—topped with ganache and a cake pop—promise a wow factor.
For those looking for dairy-free delights, non-dairy flavors like peanut butter, cookies & cream, and strawberry round out the inclusive menu. And for a true classic twist, they also serve traditional vanilla and chocolate shakes, root beer floats, and indulgent sundaes like the Peanut Butter Meltaway Cookie and Strawberry Shortcake.

A Sweet History from Pittsburgh to Cypress
The story of the MilkShake Factory began over 100 years ago in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, when Greek immigrants Charlie and Orania opened a soda fountain and chocolate shop in 1914. At a time when milkshakes were rare treats and home refrigeration was a luxury, their creations quickly became a cherished family and community tradition.
Since then, four generations of chocolatiers have carried on the legacy—expanding from handmade truffles to the establishment of a chocolate factory in the 1970s and the eventual evolution into the MilkShake Factory brand in 2003. The company credits much of its growth and heart to Dona, the matriarch whose passion for sweets and people continues to inspire the family-run business.
Now, with over two dozen locations across the U.S. and more underway, Cypress is one of the latest locations to be woven into that sweet legacy.
Ethically Delicious
Beyond flavor and flair, the MilkShake Factory also emphasizes sustainability and ethical sourcing. Their chocolates are crafted using cocoa sourced through programs like Cocoa Horizons and Women’s Agro Forestry, highlighting the company’s commitment to responsible business practices that honor both heritage and the global community.
