Bear Creek Little League Enters 35th Year of Building Character Through Baseball in West Houston
For more than three decades, Bear Creek Little League has been far more than a place to play baseball—it’s been a cornerstone of the West Houston community. As the league opens registration for its Fall 2025 season, it also celebrates 35 years of guiding young athletes through the fundamentals of the game and the values that last a lifetime.
Founded in 1990, Bear Creek Little League was established with a simple but powerful mission: to use baseball as a classroom for teaching discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play. Over the years, this mission has taken root in the hearts of thousands of families, creating a vibrant tradition of mentorship, camaraderie, and personal growth.
A Legacy Built on Purpose
More than just a sports league, Bear Creek Little League serves as a space where children grow into young adults with confidence and character. Through both victory and defeat, players learn resilience and respect—lessons that extend far beyond the diamond.
The program's impact is reflected in the success of its alumni. Many have gone on to play collegiate baseball, while a few have even made it to the professional level. But for most, it’s the friendships, lessons, and memories formed on the fields at the Bear Creek Little League Fields in Bear Creek Pioneers Park, located at 3524 War Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77084, that leave the most lasting impression.

Fair Play Starts with a Fair Draft
Ensuring a fun and competitive experience for every child is a top priority. That’s why all Bear Creek Little League teams are formed through a draft process, giving every player a fair shot at being placed on an evenly matched team. Players unable to attend assessments are assigned by random draw, while late registrants are placed in sequential order on the next available team.
Special requests are considered when possible, though the priority remains forming balanced and inclusive teams that foster growth and sportsmanship.

Opportunities to Move Up or Step In as a Coach
Parents wishing for their child to “play up” a division should contact the appropriate division director before assessments:
- T-Ball & Coach Pitch: Sam Cooper – divisiondirector@bearcreekll.com
- Minors, Intermediate & JR/SR Divisions: Cory Franklin – cfranklin75@yahoo.com
Bear Creek Little League also encourages parents and community members to get involved as volunteer coaches. Coaching is more than guiding drills—it’s about becoming a role model, a motivator, and a lifelong influence on a child’s development. Interested volunteers can fill out a form and contact their respective division directors above.
Whether your child is just beginning with T-Ball or stepping into the Junior/Senior division, Bear Creek Little League continues to offer a safe, enriching, and exciting environment rooted in values that matter.
As the Fall 2025 season approaches, the fields of Bear Creek stand ready once again—not just for games, but for growth.
