Earth Kind Kids Camp Still Accepting Campers for Summer 2025 in Fort Bend County

June 16 2025

Parents in Fort Bend County looking for meaningful summer activities still have time to secure a spot for their child at the 2025 Earth Kind Kids Camp, a unique day camp dedicated to hands-on gardening, environmental science, and outdoor fun. As of mid-June, registration remains open, with limited spaces available for children entering grades 3–5.

Hosted by the Fort Bend County Master Gardeners and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, this four-day educational camp will be held July 21–24, 2025, at Building D of the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds in Rosenberg. Camp sessions run daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, offering a dynamic, screen-free alternative that blends learning with active play in nature.

What Kids Gain at Earth Kind Kids Camp

Unlike typical summer programs, Earth Kind Kids Camp dives deep into gardening, conservation, and sustainability—subjects that nurture both intellectual and emotional growth. Campers will get their hands dirty learning about soil, seeds, rainfall, composting, and plant life cycles through interactive, science-based activities designed to engage and educate.

Research continues to show the developmental benefits of gardening for children. Studies from the American Society for Horticultural Science highlight how hands-on horticulture builds motor skills, improves focus, and encourages healthier eating habits by increasing exposure to fruits and vegetables.

The camp’s mission is to cultivate curiosity and eco-consciousness. Each activity is designed not just to entertain, but to instill values of environmental stewardship and teamwork.

An Enriching Alternative to Screens and Smartphones

In an era when many summer programs are filled with screen-based activities, Earth Kind Kids Camp offers a refreshing change. According to the American Camp Association, outdoor camps play a pivotal role in building resilience, confidence, and social skills among children. The camp’s design promotes exploration, problem-solving, and collaboration—all while keeping kids active and engaged in nature.

Parents can expect their children to come home with not only gardening knowledge but a deeper appreciation for the world around them—and likely some muddy shoes and proud stories to share.

Camp Details and How to Register

With only 25 total spots available, families are encouraged to act fast. The fee covers everything campers need to participate, and early registrants are guaranteed a camp T-shirt and all materials.

About the Hosts

The Fort Bend County Master Gardeners is a volunteer nonprofit organization focused on promoting sustainable gardening and horticultural education in the community. This camp is one of many outreach initiatives made possible through the support of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, which brings research-backed environmental and agricultural education to communities across Texas.

Don’t Miss Out: Earth Kind Kids Camp promises a summer of adventure, education, and growth—literally and figuratively. Whether your child is new to gardening or already has a green thumb, this camp offers a rare chance to unplug and connect with the natural world in a supportive, hands-on learning environment.
