Nottingham Country Gears Up for 17th Annual JET Band & Color Guard MarchAThon Fundraiser on August 16
The Nottingham Country community will come alive with music and community pride on Saturday, August 16, 2025, as the talented students of the Taylor High School JET Band and Color Guard hit the streets for their 17th Annual MarchAThon fundraiser. This beloved annual tradition allows residents to enjoy a marching concert experience right outside their front doors while helping to fund one of the area’s most celebrated student music programs.
What Is the MarchAThon?
The MarchAThon is the JET Band and Color Guard’s largest and most exciting fundraiser of the year, covering five miles through local neighborhoods and featuring live performances at designated Community Stops. From parents and neighbors to local businesses and music lovers, everyone has the opportunity to come out, cheer on the students, and contribute to the future of this thriving program.
“This is our biggest and most exciting fundraiser of the year,” said Rachel Duerringer, Vice President of JET Band and Color Guard Boosters. “Each year the talented students of the JET Band and Color Guard at Taylor High School take to the streets for MarchAThon—a high-energy, music-filled community event that fuels the heartbeat of our program.”

Why Community Support Matters
Funding a band and color guard program takes more than passion; it requires ongoing support. Donations help cover essentials such as instruments, repairs, uniforms, travel costs, show props, and even scholarships for students. Every dollar raised directly supports the 2025–2026 season and helps the JET Band maintain its high level of excellence.
Residents can show support by donating directly to a student, giving cash donations along the route (blue buckets and Zelle QR codes will be available), or selecting unique fundraising options like purchasing a personal concert performed outside their home.
“This event is about more than just music,” Duerringer said. “It’s about building connections, celebrating the arts, and supporting students who work hard all year to achieve their goals.”
Special Opportunities to Participate

Community Stop Concerts – Two songs performed at a chosen community stop, with a shoutout to your business or family.

Personal Home Concerts – If your home is along one of the five marching routes, you can book a personalized two-song performance right in front of your home.

Remote Concerts – Can’t be there in person? Enjoy the MarchAThon from anywhere with an exclusive video link.

Sponsorships – Businesses can choose Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum sponsorship levels, each offering special perks like ad placements, social media shoutouts, and event recognition.
Alumni are also encouraged to take part in the Alumni Stop at Randall’s at the end of Route 1 from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. It’s a chance to reconnect, reminisce, and support current students while celebrating past marching days.

Route 4 – Hayes Elementary School to Westgreen Park and Pool (12:15 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.)

A Community Effort
“This is our community’s chance to come together and support the arts,” said Duerringer. “From parents and students to alumni and local businesses, every contribution—big or small—makes a difference.”
The MarchAThon team will place route and concert signs in advance to help residents know when the music will arrive near their homes.
