Pluckers Wing Bar to Open in Katy July 14, Celebrating 30 Years with 33rd Restaurant in Texas
Pluckers Wing Bar, the Texas-grown restaurant that’s become a go-to spot for wings, trivia nights, and game-day hangouts, will officially open its 33rd location in Katy on July 14, 2025—just in time for the brand’s 30th anniversary.
Founded in Austin in 1995 by three college friends—Mark Greenberg, Dave Paul, and Sean Greenberg—Pluckers began as a campus-side experiment to satisfy late-night cravings and quickly transformed into a statewide sensation. With over 30 locations across Texas and a cult following, the restaurant is known for its bold wing sauces, friendly, laid-back atmosphere, and a community-driven spirit that has earned it national accolades.
In fact, Pluckers has been named one of USA Today’s “Top Ten Wing Restaurants”, ESPN’s “Top 5 Sports Bars in North America”, and one of the Austin Business Journal’s “Best Places to Work” five times—including in 2025. The company’s founders were also honored with the Ernst & Young Central Texas Entrepreneurs of the Year award.

The announcement of the Katy location was reported by My Neighborhood News in December 2024, as part of the chain’s growing footprint in the Greater Houston. Since entering the Houston market 12 years ago, Pluckers has opened several thriving locations across the metro area—including its recent Meyerland opening last spring—and continues to expand into the region’s fastest-growing communities.
“At our core, we’re a Texas brand,” said co-founder and owner Dave Paul. “When it comes to growth, we believe in going straight to the source—Houston, the largest city in Texas. We’re excited to bring the Pluckers experience to the Katy community and make it even easier for people across the city to enjoy what we offer.”
What to Expect at Pluckers Katy
Located at 19302 Katy Freeway, Suite 1, near Houston Methodist West Hospital and Texas Children's Hospital West Campus, the new Pluckers restaurant will offer the chain’s full fan-favorite menu—including crowd-pleasing wing flavors like Jamango Jerk, Spicy Garlic Parmesan, and Honey BBQ—as well as burgers, sandwiches, salads, fried pickles, and cheese fries.

The Katy location also introduces a spacious, turfed outdoor patio equipped with Adirondack chairs, a firepit, cornhole, and other tailgate-style games, making it a perfect hangout for families, sports fans, and trivia night regulars. Like other Pluckers spots, the restaurant will host weekly live team trivia nights, big-screen sports viewing, and a vibrant, communal atmosphere.
More Than a Restaurant: A Community Partner
Beyond food, Pluckers is known for its strong community involvement. For over two decades, the restaurant has hosted Christmas Eve community lunches and toy drives benefiting families supported by local youth-focused nonprofits—efforts that will continue in Katy.
“Pluckers has always been about more than just great food,” said Dina Barrish, Public Relations and Media Coordinator, in the original announcement. “We are committed to providing a fun and friendly atmosphere for our guests, and the Katy community’s growth and welcoming spirit make it the perfect place for us to expand.”

As an official sponsor of the Houston Astros, Pluckers also plays an active role in the region’s sports and fan culture, creating memorable experiences that blend food, fandom, and fun.
Looking Ahead
With the Katy opening just weeks away, excitement continues to build among residents eager to welcome the chain into their neighborhood. Whether you’re a long-time Pluckers fan or trying it for the first time, the new location promises the same award-winning experience that has helped the brand earn its spot among the best wing restaurants in the country.
