The $2.5 million renovation began in mid-October 2023 and wrapped up this spring, refreshing the immersive dining destination with modern updates while preserving the rainforest-inspired atmosphere guests have come to love.
Located at 5000 Katy Mills Circle, Katy, TX 77494, the restaurant remained open throughout the renovation process, allowing loyal patrons to continue enjoying their signature jungle-themed experience during the transformation.

The Katy Mills Rainforest Cafe has been a fixture in the community since the mall opened in 1999. Known for its vibrant, multi-sensory atmosphere where tropical sights, sounds, and flavors collide, the newly refreshed restaurant now welcomes guests with a range of striking design upgrades that elevate the adventure while staying true to the brand’s iconic jungle energy.
Additional upgrades include a reimagined bar area, transformed from its original mushroom-inspired design into a modern space accented by Aztec motifs, and a new semi-private Aztec-themed seating area, perfect for celebrations and group gatherings. Updated booth seating and themed sections featuring signature animatronic elephants, gorillas, and other rainforest creatures round out the transformation, creating an atmosphere that is both nostalgic and refreshingly new.

The update also replaces much of the traditional hanging artificial foliage with artistically painted jungle landscapes, while still showcasing the restaurant’s beloved animatronics, now paired with enhanced lighting and special effects to fully immerse guests into the wild.
