Tomball Memorial High School Volleyball Earns National Academic Honors and AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll Distinction
Tomball Memorial High School (TMHS) Volleyball is being recognized not only for its performance on the court but also for its exceptional academic achievements. The Wildcats earned the prestigious 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, sponsored by INTENT, as well as the highly competitive AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll designation—an honor reserved for programs ranking in the top 20% nationwide by division for grade-point average.
To qualify for the AVCA Team Academic Award, programs must maintain a cumulative year-long GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale). The Wildcats not only met this standard but excelled, earning placement on the Honor Roll as one of just 26 girls’ high school programs in Texas to do so.
Head Coach Sydney Lynch expressed immense pride in her student-athletes, saying, “I am incredibly proud of the academic success our girls have achieved. Watching these athletes excel both on the court and in the classroom is a true testament to their discipline, time management, and commitment to excellence. Their ability to maintain strong grades while balancing the demands of a competitive season reflect the dedication we value. It means the world to me to see them grow not just as athletes, but as well-rounded individuals prepared for success beyond high school.”
This academic recognition comes on the heels of an impressive 2024-2025 season in which TMHS Volleyball finished with a 30-15 overall record, a 15-1 district record, and a District Championship title. Fifteen Wildcats also earned Academic All-District honors, underscoring the team’s collective dedication to excellence.
